We must never underestimate the power of prayer. We thank God for churches and individuals both in Kenya and round the world who prayed for peace prior to and through Kenya’s recent elections. To all of you who took part – thank you. The elections passed peaceably. The fourth President, Uhuru Kenyatta now having been sworn into office.

There was such an undercurrent of uncertainty in the lead up to the 2013 elections, quite understandably in the wake of the previous one where so many people lost their lives and many thousands of others were displaced.

With the election and inauguration passed, Kenya enters a new season, surely now is the time for genuine healing to take place and for the unity that took the country through the process of election to not only continue, but to be built on. The church has a job to help bring that about and Vision Ministries is privileged to be a part of that as we minister into the local church.

The people of Kenya made a choice for their future – let us continue to pray that that choice will herald in a different future, one of hope and reconciliation. We pray that the government would present to the African Continent and the World a country that is able to change – a peace loving country that believes in fairness, opportunity and prosperity for all.

Jesus brought such a life for each of us when He went to the Cross – He took the punishment for our sins and gave us a new life with hope – in short He came to give us an abundant life. (John 10:10) It is a life we can choose, quite simply by receiving Jesus into our lives.
The message of reconciliation, peace and love is the life giving message that has sustained and encouraged many Kenyans through the election process. We thank God the Kenyan people chose life, we pray now they will receive it in abundance.
