Dear Pastors & Leaders

Since I did not manage to send out our February issue on time, I am here again with my apologies – please forgive me.

February has been and gone but I do hope that you have been able to spend quality time with our precious Lord and Saviour.

My focus this month is again on Psalm 23, I say again, because there is hardly a day goes by when I do not think on some aspect of this beautiful, reassuring Psalm.   As I walked in the countryside around my home recently I felt so humbled by the beauty around me.   The awesomeness of the creativity of God struck me yet again as I drank in the scenery.

So much ‘at one’ with God it was easy to see and understand to some extend why Jesus took Himself up the mountains to pray.   And how David could write such heart felt Psalms.

As I sat and walked, soaking up the peace it was impossible not to include God in my thoughts and conversations, though I was walking alone – I was far from being alone.

The hills and valley with its babbling stream, it was easy to picture David sat on one of the rocks tending the sheep, contemplating the goodness of our amazing God.

The refreshing that comes with time in His presence cannot be measured – you cannot overdose on it – it brings peace and direction – clarifying our thoughts and focus.

‘The Lord is our Shepherd I shall not want’ – how incredible is that statement alone?

In the, at times, jungle of a Leaders life – that one statement can be a lifeline – knowing that it is not about our efforts but God’s provision for the vision He has given.  Spending time in His presence gives the wisdom required for everything we are called to do.

No matter how much time we spend on our knees, this month is a good month to de-clutter our lives and spend some extra special moments soaking in the very tangible presence of our Awesome, Almighty God.
